Olaplex is soon to be released in South Australia and we’re excited to announce that Yots Hair will be one of the first hairdressing salons in Adelaide to offer the service!
Olaplex promises to make your hair stronger and healthier whilst prolonging your colour. Dubbed the Holy Grail of the colour industry, it’s a favourite of celebrity colourist Tracey Cunningham (whose clients include the Kardashians, Emily Blunt, Gwyneth Paltrow and Charlize Theron).
The Olaplex system works to repair and multiply your hair bonds to minimise the breakage and damage that can occur when you colour your hair. It involves a two step in-salon treatment service during your usual colour appointment and a post-appointment perfecting treatment that you take home to use each week. The products are free of silicones and oils and allow you to colour your hair more often, while maintaining its strength and integrity.

We love nothing more than a product update so we’re excited to welcome the latest addition to the Kevin.Murphy range into our salons! Introducing Plumping.Line – a wash, rinse and treatment combo that promises to leave your hair thicker and fuller.
“The PLUMPING line became a reality because of all the successes I had seen with eyelash thickening and lengthening products. The results I saw were quite astonishing because it actually works. This technology was the inspiration for the line but I also looked at the successes that were being achieved with these types of men’s products as well. I then realised that there was nothing truly feminine on the market that helped women both on an emotional level and a therapeutic level” – Kevin Murphy
Plumping.Wash is a thickening shampoo for thinning hair. Ginger Root and Nettle Extracts densify fine strands, stimulating and nourishing the scalp. Plumping.Rinse thickens and strengthens hair, with added protective and hydrating benefits. Finish up with Body.Mass uses eyelash thickening technology, giving hair an instant boost and improving its condition over time. We’ve given the line a test-run – the products feel beautiful and work like a dream. We’re predicting that this line will fly off the shelves, so give them a try!

Our stylists and colourists are a talented and experienced team of people, who possess invaluable insight into the hairdressing industry. Here are our favourite tips and tricks, as shared by them on our website.

Braided faux undercuts have been all over the red carpets and runways of late, most notably worn by Cara Delevingne at last year’s Met Gala. We’re dubbing the style our pick for the upcoming 2014 formal season – equal parts edgy, wearable and understated.
To recreate this look at home, begin by parting your hair deeply to one side, using the end of your eyebrow as a guide. Pin the parted hair out of the way. Using the hair on the undercut side, create between one and three horizontal braids, as close to the scalp as possible – for a stand out look we love french braids and dutch braids. When you reach the back of your head, pin each braid using a bobby pin. Remove the pin holding your remaining hair on the parted side, which will move to hide the pins securing the braids. For an amped up look, lightly tease the hair at the top of your head, and use a texturising spray on your loose hair.
Bright copper colour took centre stage at our Summer photo shoot, paired with a blunt fringe and bold eyes. With Autumn nearing, bright red tones have become the latest colour obsession amongst our stylists. The bold hues have particularly been picked up by our junior stylists, who have sported shades ranging from red to copper ombre to bright magenta colours. Perfect for someone who wants to stand out from the crowd, this attention grabbing trend is not for the faint of heart.

Today we’re putting the spotlight on a hair care combo that has reached a cult status in our salons. Over the past year, Kevin.Murphy’s Angel.Wash and Angel.Rinse have become our most popular products, among our stylists and clients alike. The duo are the perfect cocktail for adding back moisture and volume to fine or damaged hair, whilst preventing colour fade. We also love the light citrusy scent from tangerine and grapefruit peel oil.
Angel Wash: Angel.Wash is sulphate and paraben free and leaves hair feeling soft, refreshed and revitalised. Containing a powerful blend of antioxidants to prevent colour fade, Angel.Wash also contains mango and cocoa butters, grapefruit, green-tea and lavender extracts and aloe esters to protect and repair hair. With added milk proteins for nourishment, Angel.Wash won’t strip the natural oils from your hair, controlling and smoothing out frizz. Our clients have called it their ‘holy grail’ shampoo, and we’re inclined to agree.
Angel Rinse: Like its shampoo counterpart, Angel.Rinse is delicate enough for every-day use. Formulated to nourish fine, coloured hair, Angel.Rinse is free from parabens and sodium laurel sulfate and enriched with mango and cocoa butters and chamomile. Geranium flower oil gives your hair a natural shine and manageability, while olive oil esters work to repair damaged hair at a cellular level. Although the bottle recommends use for fine coloured hair, we’ve found that clients of all hair types rave about Angel.Rinse – remember that hair care is all about finding the product that works best for you.
