Olaplex is soon to be released in South Australia and we’re excited to announce that Yots Hair will be one of the first hairdressing salons in Adelaide to offer the service!
Olaplex promises to make your hair stronger and healthier whilst prolonging your colour. Dubbed the Holy Grail of the colour industry, it’s a favourite of celebrity colourist Tracey Cunningham (whose clients include the Kardashians, Emily Blunt, Gwyneth Paltrow and Charlize Theron).
The Olaplex system works to repair and multiply your hair bonds to minimise the breakage and damage that can occur when you colour your hair. It involves a two step in-salon treatment service during your usual colour appointment and a post-appointment perfecting treatment that you take home to use each week. The products are free of silicones and oils and allow you to colour your hair more often, while maintaining its strength and integrity.

This Summer we’re loving powder products to add grit, texture and volume to hair of all lengths. Our salon favourites are the Eleven Australia I Want Body Volume Powder and the cult classic Kevin.Murphy Powder.Puff.
Just sprinkle your chosen powder product onto the roots of your hair and lightly work it in – then say hello to instant lift and volume. You can also work a small amount of powder through your mid-length and ends for a quick body boost.
Powder products also work wonders for buns and ponytails. Tap some powder into your roots before styling to create volume and lift for bouffant-styles. After styling add a tiny bit more through your lengths for movement and texture, before finishing up with hairspray.

The long bob has been having its moment in the hair spotlight for several years now – if you’re still rocking your lob in 2014, it’s time to say goodbye to those last few centimetres. Thanks to Karlie Kloss, Lily Collins, and Marc Jacobs and Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2014 runway shows, lengths are slowly creeping upwards.
We love this trend because it’s still so versatile. Wear soft waves and long layers for a beachy vibe, or a deep side part if you’re feeling glamorous. To nail the trend with maximum impact, pair your bob with a bold micro fringe à la Mia Wallace.

We’re always excited when New York Fashion Week rolls around, because it means that we finally have a chance to scope out new hairstyles, both on the runway and on the street.
Super sleek hair took center stage at Ralph Lauren and Monique Lhuillier
Milkman braids at Rebecca Minkoff – we have a feeling this is going to be our go-to hairstyle this spring
Perfect natural waves at Elie Tahari
Hair jewellery at Fallon – we love gold embellishments and this is no exception
Space chic at The Blonds – ridiculously amazing
Our favourite thing about Fashion Week this year was that when it came to hair and beauty, there were no rules. For every trend we saw on the runway we also saw its polar opposite. So when it comes to choosing a new hairstyle this season, keep in mind that anything goes. Forget trends – just find a look that works for you and wear it with confidence.
