To say that we’re obsessed with Lara Bingle’s new hair would be an understatement. We proclaimed our love for her blonde cropped bob last month on Instagram, naming it our #blondespiration. But it’s not just our Creative Team who are coveting the re-inveted Bingle-bob. When the model underwent the chop, our clients began to request the haircut immediately – we haven’t seen a haircut take off this fast since Victoria Beckham invented the ‘pob’ in 2006.
So what is it about the new style that has attracted everyones attention? Our stylists have commented that the stigma that used to attach to shorter hair has all but disappeared in 2014. There has been a shift away from Victoria’s Secret inspired long, bouncy locks amongst hairdressers and clients alike, in favour of more effortless, chic styles. We think its popularity can also be attributed to the fact that it’s realistic. A well-cut bob can be tailored to flatter and complement anyone, regardless of their hair type or face shape. As an added bonus, it’s easy to maintain and recreate Lara’s style at home without much fuss.
If you’ve been thinking about undergoing the chop, now is the time to give it a try – we’re naming the Bingle-Bob the haircut of 2014.

Braided faux undercuts have been all over the red carpets and runways of late, most notably worn by Cara Delevingne at last year’s Met Gala. We’re dubbing the style our pick for the upcoming 2014 formal season – equal parts edgy, wearable and understated.
To recreate this look at home, begin by parting your hair deeply to one side, using the end of your eyebrow as a guide. Pin the parted hair out of the way. Using the hair on the undercut side, create between one and three horizontal braids, as close to the scalp as possible – for a stand out look we love french braids and dutch braids. When you reach the back of your head, pin each braid using a bobby pin. Remove the pin holding your remaining hair on the parted side, which will move to hide the pins securing the braids. For an amped up look, lightly tease the hair at the top of your head, and use a texturising spray on your loose hair.
We’re always excited when New York Fashion Week rolls around, because it means that we finally have a chance to scope out new hairstyles, both on the runway and on the street.
Super sleek hair took center stage at Ralph Lauren and Monique Lhuillier
Milkman braids at Rebecca Minkoff – we have a feeling this is going to be our go-to hairstyle this spring
Perfect natural waves at Elie Tahari
Hair jewellery at Fallon – we love gold embellishments and this is no exception
Space chic at The Blonds – ridiculously amazing
Our favourite thing about Fashion Week this year was that when it came to hair and beauty, there were no rules. For every trend we saw on the runway we also saw its polar opposite. So when it comes to choosing a new hairstyle this season, keep in mind that anything goes. Forget trends – just find a look that works for you and wear it with confidence.

“I got my colour done here last thursday night after hearing good things from my friends, and i will definitely be making yots my regular hairdresser. My stylist (Tania) was lovely, and all the other staff were so accommodating towards me even though the salon was very busy. The salon was so warm and friendly, and i love my hair.” – Srhm87 (TrueLocal)
“My friend from work recommended Yots to me after I had a couple of bad hair cuts and I am really happy that she did. The atmosphere was really positive inside the salon. The girls who did my hair were friendly and helpful, and my haircut looks great. The coffee was surprisingly excellent and i left feeling very pampered. The girls also talked to me about what products i should use to style my hair afterwards, which was really helpful. Will definitely be going back.” – Katerina (Womo)
“Have been going to YOTS for 20+ years and cant speak highly enough about the whole experience. It is very easy for hairdressers to get bored with cutting short hair, but the guys at YOTS always make me feel very special, I come away with a great cut and colour every time, and even get cooking tips from Dim thrown in. They are really a very special talented group of people” – Judyals (Google)
“I love this salon, they really do the best blondes in Adelaide. 5 Stars” – Karen N (HairSalon.com.au)
